Rabbet is a family run Picture Framers and Art Supply Store by Scottish couple Katie Lundie and Isobel Neviazsky (and occasionally helped by our three kids).
Rabbet began in 2024 at 571 Pollokshaws Road, in an old tenement barbershop who’s original features we slowly restored. This was our much loved home for two years until in 2026 we found our new home at 170 Nithsdale Road. A beautiful tenement corner shop with more space and natural light. A space to grow into that will allow us to take on more complex framing work, present a larger selection of art materials, and host art workshops.
As practicing artists who live in the Southside of Glasgow we saw a gap in the market to have a shop that sells a wide range of artists materials and have curated a selection of interesting and beautiful pieces.
At Rabbet we set out to create a space that feels like a nod to the Art supply stores of days gone by. Craftsmanship is at the forefront of everything we do, we want both our Frames and Art Supplies to be of high quality and made from as natural as possible materials. Our frames are made the slow way, with only natural hard woods, finished by hand with true attention to detail and with our Art Supplies we prioritise pieces made with real natural materials, often made small batch by people committed to keeping these traditional processes alive.
This ethos also comes through in our Art Classes, committed to getting people to slow down, and engage with the tactility, process and joy of art making. Having kids has further instilled the belief in us that making art is just a form of play, and that making art is something all of us can do.
